Steve was appointed as Senior Pastor of Oakland Wesleyan Church on August 4 2026. Before that, he served as Lead Pastor at various congregations in the South and Midwestern US.

The attributes that best describe Steve as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development, and counseling. He has a burning desire to lead a church like Oakland Wesleyan Church, where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, and members care about the needs of those around them and want to connect others to the body of Christ. Steve takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible study.

Steve has earned several degrees in biblical studies, church growth, and church leadership that have prepared him well for local ministry.

Steve has been happily married to his wife, Debby, for 50 years. They have two wonderful children and one amazing grandchild. 

Kate's passion for worship and praise is contagious.  She wants to create an environment where everyone can experience God's joy, peace, and love through praise and worship.  Kate works hard to use the great hymns and contemporary worship songs to create a space where all worshippers can and will encounter God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.  We are blessed to have Kate. 

Kate has been married to Michael for 2 years and is still enjoying the honeymoon.
